St. James School celebrates the start of the new school year and longtime teacher

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The back-to-school convocation is a tradition at St. James School. Each year, the newest seniors are recognized, and students are energized for a fresh beginning. This year, during the annual convocation, the senior class of 2026 was honored, along with a teacher who has served the school for more than 26 years: Robin Parquette.

“This is a special place. Everyone works together, and it’s just a big, nice community… like family,” she said.

A mother, Parquette joined the St. James family in the 1990s. Her daughters enrolled as students, and she started working there as a teacher. While her girls grew up, graduated, and moved on, she remained in the classroom…
