MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Alabama Board of Medical Examiners has been recognized as a 2025 Wellbeing First Champion for removing stigmatizing language related to mental health from the state’s medical license applications.
Health care workers often report experiencing extreme stress on the job. Still, until recently, many would forgo seeking mental health treatment because Alabama required them to disclose that information when seeking a state medical license.
