Attorneys for Alabama restaurant owner in federal raid dispute DOJ’s ‘unusual’ request

Representation for Cesar Campos-Reyes, the owner of several Alabama Mexican restaurants targeted in federal raids this summer, is disputing what they say is a “rarely used” request from the Department of Justice.

Campos-Reyes, 52, currently faces a possible sentence of up to 30 years, along with fines, for allegedly taking $225,000 in fraudulent, pandemic-related business loans.
