The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles recently denied the parole petition of an inmate serving time for murder in Crenshaw County.
On Aug. 12, the board voted to deny parole to Johnny James Knighton, 75. He is housed at the Easterling Correctional Center, serving a life sentence from Crenshaw County handed down April 2000 consecutively with a 1980 life sentence for murder in Coffee County.
