Alabama grocery tax drops from 3% to 2%

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) – The start of September means many of you will have a little more change in your pocket the next time you check out at the grocery store.

As of September 1st, the Alabama grocery tax has dropped another percent.

Originally, Alabama had a 4% grocery tax in place, so 4 pennies per dollar. Last year, the legislature dropped it to 3%. Now, it’s down to 2%…
