SANTA ANA, Calif. – A Jemison man who claimed to be the “Angel of Death” and drove from Alabama to St. Michael’s Abbey in Silverado Canyon after threatening to “do the Lord’s reaping” has been charged with multiple felony offenses, including making criminal threats and possessing illegal weapons and tactical gear, according to California authorities.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department said 38-year-old Joshua Michael Richardson, who also uses the name Joshua Michael Jericho, was arrested on August 28, 2025, in Santa Monica, two days after attending a service at St. Michael’s Abbey and confronting a priest. His arrest came just one day after a deadly mass shooting at a Catholic school near Minneapolis.
Richardson was charged with one felony count of criminal threats, one felony count of possession of brass knuckles, one felony count of possession of a dirk or dagger, and one misdemeanor count of possession of a large-capacity magazine.
