Alabama singers thrill ‘America’s Got Talent’ judges in bid for finals: Did they make the cut?

The Birmingham Youth & Young Adult Fellowship Choir had Howie Mandel on its side this week, when the group competed in the semifinals of “America’s Got Talent.”

The Alabama vocal troupe, a fan favorite on AGT, performed on the NBC reality series on Tuesday night during a round known as the semifinals. The choir, more than 30 members strong, offered a rousing rendition of Alicia Keys’ “No One.” They earned a standing ovation from the show’s judges and studio audience.

“I’ve had a really rough week personally,” said Mandel, one of AGT’s four judges. ”And this was the medicine that I needed. This was pure audible joy. Just your faces, the sound, the harmony. It just made me feel good. That was amazing. Thank you. I hope you feel the same, America.”…
