GoFundMe launched for Shalanda Williams, victim of deadly Montgomery, AL shooting

A GoFundMe campaign now supports the family of Shalanda Williams, 43, who tragically lost her life Saturday night in downtown Montgomery, AL.

Her daughter, Tykeria Mays, 24, created the fundraiser to help cover funeral costs and provide for Williams’ surviving children.

Tragic shooting in Alabama

The mass shooting occurred around 11:30 p.m. near Bibb and Commerce Streets, where large crowds had gathered. According to police, two groups exchanged gunfire during a “senseless disagreement,” resulting in tragedy.

Williams and Jeremiah Morris, 17, both Montgomery residents, were killed. Twelve others sustained injuries. Authorities have not made any arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.
