Minors’ curfew in Montgomery could expand city-wide

In the wake of this weekend’s mass shooting, Montgomery city leaders are reconsidering a curfew plan initially implemented earlier this year. They are now exploring the possibility of expanding it across the entire city.

The original curfew, passed by the city council in July, aimed to keep minors safe in the downtown entertainment district by reducing crime.

Councilwoman Marche Johnson from District 3 said, “After this weekend, I realized that it’s time to spread this out. This is an opportunity to make this a city-wide thing. Expanding that and just a couple other things to just grab a hold of our youth and hold those parents accountable.”…
