‘I miss my son everyday’: Family of 21-year-old Christopher Washington seeks justice

The family of Christopher Washington, a 21-year-old who was shot and killed last month in the parking lot of Citi Trends on East South Boulevard, is pleading for answers and justice.

Vivian Turner, Washington’s grandmother, described him as a loving and kind grandson. “He meant everything to me. He always had a hug. He always had a smile,” Turner said. “He brought energy to us, he brought love to us.”

Jeannine Lewis, Washington’s mother, expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of her son. “I miss my son every day, every second, every minute,” Lewis said. “I still cannot believe this, like I’m still in denial that my son is gone.”…
