ELMORE COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – A woman and a minor are under arrest following an attempt to promote contraband at Elmore Correctional Facility, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
Correctional staff reported seeing a suspect toss something over the facility fence near the back gate on Oct. 12 and a K-9 unit respond to the area. ADOC says three packages were found, each wrapped in black tape.
Officers also found suspect Brandi Dejarnett and an unnamed juvenile and arrested both. Dejarnett remains in the Elmore County Jail on a $3 million bond. It’s unclear how old the minor is or if they are facing the same charges as Dejarnett.
ADOC said the confiscated packages were found to contain:
- 381g Flakka
- 241g Methamphetamine
- 477g Marijuana
- 490g Suspected Alcohol
- 281g Cigars
- 30 Cell Phones
- 5 Pocket Knives
The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be pending…
