MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A new book puts some of Alabama’s most sacred places in the spotlight to celebrate the state’s heritage of faith. “Alabama Hope” features 60 Jewish synagogues, Catholic, Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, United Methodist, Episcopal, Lutheran, First Christian, and historic African American churches.
The author is Alabama photographer David Graves, who says he wants to remind readers that there is still hope and encourage all of us to share our own faith story. He pulled together a collection of 125 photographs that capture the architectural beauty and spiritual depth of those houses of worship.
“With ‘Alabama Hope,’ my goal is to remind readers that hope is still offered to each individual and encourage each of us to share our own faith story,” said photographer David Graves. “These sacred spaces—whether modest or grand—hold generations of prayers, songs, and stories that continue to shape our state and its people.”…
