MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – A new safety ordinance aimed at addressing dangerous pedestrian activity will go into effect this week, the city of Montgomery announced Tuesday.
The new law will prohibit people from being on active roadways or standing on medians to interact with drivers for non-traffic purposes. It will also bar people from impeding traffic or walking on roadways in areas with sidewalks or shoulders.
