Storm Alert: Central Alabama Faces Two Rounds of Strong Storms This Weekend

Birmingham, AL – Residents across central Alabama should prepare for two rounds of potentially strong storms heading into the weekend, according to the U.S. National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Forecasters say the first system will move through Friday afternoon and evening, bringing scattered thunderstorms with the potential for damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters. Storm activity is expected between 1 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, mainly along and south of Interstate 20, including Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, and Montgomery.
