The newly re-launched Montgomery River Region Chapter of the Alabama Minority GOP will host its official Kick-Off Reception on Friday, November 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at The 1616 House in Montgomery.
The event will celebrate the achievements of Belinda Thomas—the first African American woman elected to the Newton City Council—in recognition her lifelong dedication to empowering minority farming communities across Alabama.
“Belinda Thomas represents exactly what strong, compassionate, conservative leadership looks like,” said Cedric Coley, chairman of the Montgomery River Region Minority GOP Chapter. “She has spent her life serving her community and opening doors for others, especially within Alabama’s farming and rural communities.
