Lowndesboro crash claims passenger’s life

A single-vehicle crash in Lowndesboro Wednesday morning claimed the life of a passenger and left the driver injured.

The accident happened around 1:21 a.m. on Nov. 26 in the west bound lanes of U.S. Highway 80 near the 115-mile. According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Carl Johnson, 61, of Selma was fatally injured when the vehicle he was riding in, a 2007 Honda Accord, left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Rosland G. Perkins, 64, of Selma, was injured and transported Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene…
