Alabama man arrested, accused of trying to rob DC bank

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) –Police took an Alabama man into custody after he allegedly tried to rob a bank in Washington, D.C., over the weekend.

Authorities charged 61-year-old Bruce Dudley Lord with attempt to commit robbery in connection with the incident, which reportedly took place Dec. 6.

The Metropolitan Police Department said it all started just after 11:15 a.m. that Saturday when officers responded to the report of a robbery in progress at a bank in the 300 block of H Street NE.

There, officers learned that Lord entered the bank and allegedly passed a note to an employee demanding money. He then told the employee he would wait outside for the money before he exited the bank, police said…
