MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WRBL) — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has launched an internal investigation into allegations that an SBI employee with the State’s Drug Task Force was involved in the improper purchase of equipment. WRBL News 3 has confirmed the probe is also tied to a Chambers County Drug task force agent within the Region D jurisdiction.
On Dec. 5, ALEA confirmed with WRBL the SBI agent was placed on mandatory leave on Nov. 12 while the agency worked to determine the scope of the alleged improprieties.
