Gov. Ivey wins inaugural Capital Legacy Impact Award

The Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday bestowed Governor Kay Ivey with the inaugural Capital Legacy Impact Award in recognition of Ivey’s tenure leading the state.

The Montgomery Regional Chamber established the Capital Legacy Impact Award to recognize leaders whose service has made a generational impact on Montgomery, the Capital Region and the state of Alabama. The Chamber said they selected Ivey as the inaugural recipient because her leadership has consistently advanced the priorities that strengthen communities and drive long-term economic growth.

“Throughout her distinguished career—and especially as Alabama’s longest-serving governor—Gov. Ivey has championed initiatives that align closely with the Chamber’s mission: expanding opportunity, supporting workforce and education, improving infrastructure, bolstering military readiness, enhancing public safety and fostering a competitive business climate,” said Chamber President Anna Buckalew. “Her leadership has helped secure transformative investments, accelerate job creation and elevate Montgomery’s role as the Capital City that helps set the pace for progress across Alabama.
