Ivey Aims to Boost Guard Recruitment

Alabama Army and Air National Guard personnel can make a little extra cash. Gov. kay Ivey has signed an Executive Order to “…reconstitute the Alabama State Military Department’s Joint Enlistment Enhancement Program (JEEP).”

In the order Ivey states the purpose, “…is to ensure that the Army and Air National Guard are able to maintain operational superiority through effective and sustainable recruitment and retention efforts.”

Recruiting has been strong for the Alabama National Guard, achieving decade-high enlistments in 2023 and experiencing continued success through 2025 and into this year. Targeted recruiting programs are cited by the guard as a key factor for recruiting new guard and retaining current soldiers and airmen.
