‘People will die over this’: Montgomery County Commission votes not to provide additional Jackson Hospital funding

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The Montgomery County Commission voted to withhold an additional $7.5 million to Jackson Hospital on the same day the Montgomery City Council voted in favor of the same measure.

The decision drew a strong reaction from city council members who expressed anger over the county’s decision.

“This is a dire situation, people will die over this,” said council member Charles Jinright. “This is not about money as much as people’s lives.”…
