MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Additional provisions of Alabama’s 2025 cannabis law go into effect on January 1, 2026. Here’s what you need to know about HB445:
Confiscation:
Any consumables sold in violation of the law will be considered contraband and can be seized by law enforcement without a warrant.
Restrictions on sale and distribution:
Consumable hemp products can only be sold be licensed retailed to adults 21 years of age or older.
Licensed retailers and distributors must have and be able to immediately provide certificates of analysis of each consurmable hemp product offered for sale to law enforcement of the ABC Board.
