Alabamians looking for work can reference some of the most recently in-demand jobs in the state — and what they typically pay.
According to workforce development data from the Alabama Committee On Credentialing and Career Pathways, here are the top 10 industries with the highest number of job openings across the state in a 2025 report:
- Retail sales: 9,140 jobs
- Stockers and order fillers: 7,830 jobs
- Hand laborers and freight, stock and material movers: 5,795 jobs
- Miscellaneous assemblers and fabricators: 5,090 jobs
- Heavy & tractor-trailer truck drivers: 4,565 jobs
- General & operations managers: 3,690 jobs
- First-line supervisors of food preparation & serving: 3,630 jobs
- Nursing assistants: 3,500 jobs
- Restaurant cooks, Restaurant: 3,420 jobs
- Registered nurses: 3,225 jobs
