BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A small horse is making a big difference across Alabama.
Winnie is the state’s first therapy horse. Winnie’s trainer and owner, Bianca Smith, says that the miniature horse brings comfort and joy to those who may not be able to experience it.
According to Smith, Winnie’s small size helps her excel in the role. Whereas a dog or cat’s height can make reach difficult for residents or patients who are bed bound or use a wheelchair, Winnie’s a good height to be easily accessible…
