Warming centers to open in Montgomery for freezing temps Sunday and Monday

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – With an incoming cold front expected to bring below-freezing temperatures, the City of Montgomery and the Emergency Management Agency will open an overnight warming center in the city on Sunday and Monday.

Located at the Crump Center (1751 Cong W L Dickinson Drive), the warming center will be open to residents in need of shelter during the following times:

  • Sunday, Jan. 11, from 7 p.m. to Monday, Jan. 12 at 7 a.m.
  • Monday, Jan. 12, from 7 p.m. to Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 7 a.m.

No pets are allowed inside the warming center.

Monday morning, Jan. 12, through Tuesday morning, Jan. 13, The M Transit System, Route 8 (Gunter Park/East Dale Mall) bus is scheduled to arrive and depart from the Crump Center at the following times:

  • Transport passengers out of the center Monday at 5:45, 6:30, and 7:15 a.m.
  • Deliver passengers to the center Monday at 6:45, 7:15, and 8:15 p.m.
  • Transport passengers out of the center Tuesday at 5:45, 6:30, and 7:15 a.m.

There is no scheduled bus service on Sunday…
