Lowndes County Coroner Terrell Means has announced his bid for reelection. The Democratic candidate has served in the office for eight-and-a-half years, responding to 112 deaths in 2025.
“Anywhere that a death happens in Lowndes County, or outside of the county when a resident dies… I am notified,” Means said.
He partners with local first responders — law enforcement and firefighters — and also hospitals and nursing homes, to serve families when a death occurs. In that way, Means said he works to bring justice for Lowndes County families…
