‘Cruel and inhumane’ English-only driver’s license bill gets backlash in Alabama House

A bill that would require Alabama driver’s license exams to be administered exclusively in English has been carried over to next week by the House Committee on Public Safety and Homeland Security.

In its meeting Wednesday, several members of the committee questioned the intent and impact of HB88, sponsored by Rep. Phillip Pettus, R-Killen.
