Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery has opened the highly-anticipated expansion of its emergency department.
The $14 million expansion added over 11,000 square feet to the department which increases the health center’s treatment capacity from 53 to 83 rooms. Baptist Health says the new area could potentially accommodate as many as 98 treatment areas.
“Baptist Medical Center South is the largest healthcare facility in Central Alabama and home to the only Trauma Center in the area. In 2024, our Emergency Department treated nearly 57,000 patients from a 17-county service area. As patient volumes and acuity level only continued to grow, we knew we needed to expand our Emergency Department.”…
