Two people arrested following drug bust in Alabama

ALABAMA — Two men have been charged with trafficking marijuana following a police pursuit that ended with the seizure of approximately 24 pounds of the drug, according to Abbeville police.

In a statement, Abbeville Police Department Chief Marlos Walker said officers attempted to stop a vehicle Saturday after the driver failed to obey traffic signals. The vehicle, occupied by Jaylen Tenarous Faison and Jeffrey Tayion Summerlin, led officers on an approximately 25-mile pursuit through Henry County.

Police said the pursuit ended when the vehicle eventually came to a stop. During a search of the vehicle, officers reportedly found about 24 pounds of marijuana, much of it packaged into one-pound bags, along with additional marijuana concealed inside the vehicle…
