LOWNDES COUNTY, Ala. (WSFA) – Two men have been taken into custody after nearly a dozen livestock were stolen, according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said it received a theft complaint on Feb. 2. The complaint said one bull and 10 cows, valued at about $40,000, had been stolen. Officials did not provide an exact location of where the reported theft happened.
An investigation began, and authorities on Monday, Feb. 9, arrested Christopher Simmons and Calvin Jack Haigler. Both men, accused of stealing and selling the animals, are charged with second-degree theft of property. They are being held in the Lowndes County Jail…
