Ivey awards $4.5 million to help low-income residents

Gov. Kay Ivey has awarded grants worth a total of $4.5 million to groups that alleviate poverty and help low-income residents become economically self-sufficient.

One organization, the Organized Community Action Program Inc. (OCAP), received $198,252 to assist residents in Bullock, Butler, Covington, Crenshaw, Dale, Lowndes and Pike counties.
