TOPEKA (KSNT) – Federal health officials are expanding a recall for tater tot products distributed in more than two dozen U.S. states because they may be contaminated with pieces of hard plastic.
The recalled tater tots originated from the firm McCain Foods in Idaho. They were distributed in large quantities to food service clients. Importantly, they were not for sale at retail stores, according to the Food and Drug Administration recall notice.
The FDA announced on Tuesday that additional batch codes are now included in the voluntary recall. The products are being recalled for “foreign materials” as they may contain small, hard plastic fragments.
