Retired longtime Prattville police captain Albert Bates Wadsworth dies

PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WSFA) – Capt. (Ret.) Albert Bates Wadsworth, a man who served the Prattville community as a law enforcement officer more than four decades, died Saturday, according to his family. He was 78 years old.

Wadsworth served with the Prattville Police Department for more than 40 years before retiring in 2016.

According to those who knew him, Wadsworth lived a life defined by service, devotion, and unwavering love for his family and community.

He is survived by his wife, Sandie Wadsworth; his daughter, Shea Wadsworth Dunway (Jeff); his brother, Alfred Wadsworth, who also served with Prattville PD; and his grandchildren, Lance Corporal Mason Dunway (Avery) and Logan Dunway…
