DOTHAN, Ala. (WDNews) — A nationwide peanut butter recall could impact food suppliers and institutions across the Wiregrass, including schools, hospitals and other facilities that use single-serve products.
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, more than 22,000 cases of individually packaged peanut butter and peanut butter-and-jelly snack packs are part of the recall. The original recall was initiated by Ventura Foods LLC in April 2025 after pieces of blue plastic were discovered in a production filter at one of its facilities.
The FDA later classified the action as a Class II recall, meaning use of the products could cause temporary or medically reversible health effects, though the risk of serious injury is considered low…
