West Alabama Storm Chances Fade Before Temperature Drop

According to recent updates from the National Weather Service in Birmingham, the marginal risk of severe storms has been removed for Friday night into Saturday morning, including West Alabama.

Also, the Saturday morning into the evening threat has been confined to “locations generally along and south of the I-87 corridor, with their threats being large hail up to quarter-size and damaging winds up to 60 mph.”

James Spann, Alabama Weather Network and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said, “Several bands of showers are passing through Alabama early this morning ahead of a surface front. The front will stall over Central Alabama later today, then it will move northward this evening as a warm front.”…
