Alabama man sentenced to 20 years for raping child in Louisiana

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, an Alabama man pleaded guilty to forcibly raping a young female victim between the ages of 7 and 12 in Caddo Parish more than a decade ago.

According to the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office, 42-year-old Tarance LaMichael English, now living in Deatsville, Alabama, forced the victim to have sexual intercourse from 2012 to 2015. The sexual assaults occurred in Caddo Parish, though it was later reported in Alabama.

English appeared in the Caddo District Court and entered his plea shortly after the victim testified. Following the powerful testimony from the victim, English pleaded guilty before a jury made up of ten women and two men in District Judge Ramona Emanuel’s court.
