2 injured after Monday morning crash in Macon County

SHORTER, Ala. (WSFA) – Two drivers were taken to the hospital Monday morning after a crash in Macon County, according to fire officials.

The Shorter Volunteer Fire Department said crews responded to a two-vehicle crash with entrapment on Highway 229 near Interstate 85 at Exit 26 just after 8 a.m.

One driver was extricated and airlifted to a medical facility by Haynes LifeFlight, and the other driver was transported by ambulance…
