A Mexican national living in Marion County was charged in federal court with illegally voting in multiple Alabama elections despite not being a U.S. citizen.
A complaint filed in U.S. District Court alleges Homero Ramos, 51, is a lawful permanent resident who has never obtained U.S. citizenship but registered to vote and cast ballots even though he knew only U.S. citizens are permitted to vote under Alabama law.
