HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Ahmad Khalil Barney was taken into custody Friday afternoon after an hours-long, multi-agency manhunt in connection with the killing of Alabama A&M University student Nadiya Perkins of Montgomery.
Perkins was found dead Wednesday morning at Candlewood Apartments. Huntsville police say Barney and Perkins were believed to have been in a domestic relationship at the time of her death.
Officers with the Huntsville Police Department were called to the area of Jordan Road and Shields Road around 10:30 a.m. Friday after receiving a tip that Barney may have been nearby.
