ALABAMA, USA — Nearly five years after Alabama approved medical cannabis, dispensaries are finally getting ready to open their doors to patients, moving the state’s long-delayed program closer to reality.
Before purchasing any products, patients must first receive a recommendation from a certified physician and register with the state. The program permits only non-smokable forms of cannabis, including tablets, capsules and tinctures. Smokable cannabis and edible food products are prohibited under state law.
