A recent informal survey shows that despite Alabama’s “hands-free” law, the state has the highest percentage of drivers in the nation who admit to driving distracted.
An Alabama law became effective June 15, 2023, making holding cell phones and other devices while driving, according to the Alabama Department of Transportation. On June 1, 2024, law enforcement officers began to enforce the law. Read more about the Alabama law here.
