Southeast Gas gives back to Lowndes County schools

Southeast Gas will distribute $140,688 directly to 20 public school systems in 2026 as part of its yearly Give Back to Schools initiative.

The company and its Board of Directors created this initiative in 2010. The allocation amount is determined by the school system’s natural gas usage during the year prior; the more natural gas a school uses, the higher the financial return.

“Supporting our schools means investing in the next generation of leaders in our community. I was fortunate to attend a local public school, as were many of our employees,” Southeast Gas President and CEO Greg Henderson said. “At Southeast Gas, we believe in supporting these schools, and I am proud that we can make an impact. Over the years, we have been able to reinvest a significant amount of money right back into the schools.”…
