Doesn’t it seem like there’s always a cold spell at Easter? It seems everyone buys spring dresses for church but then has to wear a sweater over them. I’ve always used April 15, Tax Day, as the latest potential freeze date but that doesn’t keep me from planting flowers in my garden. Those first days in the 70s and 80s send us running to the garden nurseries. Then, if there’s a late freeze, we have to scramble to cover the flowers.
Forecasters say we are having a “cool” snap for Easter 2026, with lows in the low 40s Sunday night in north Alabama and in the low 50s in south Alabama. After Monday, the forecast shows beautiful spring weather through Tax Day. Could there be a freeze after that?
