MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – WSFA’s late news director Desmond Wingard was honored at HandsOn River Region’s 52nd annual Volunteer of the Year Awards Thursday.
Every year, the nonprofit holds the event to recognize outstanding community leaders, and Desmond posthumously received the Legacy Awards for his years of work for WSFA 12 News’ Championing Community events like 12’s Day of Giving, the Summer Fund and Food Drive, and the Give from the Heart Blood Drive.
