GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A man has reportedly died after a fall aboard one of the Great Lakes’ giant freighters.
Erie News Now in Pennsylvania reports a 44-year-old man from Alabama died early Saturday morning aboard the American Integrity. The 1,000-foot freighter is now docked at Donjon Shipbuilding in Erie for maintenance.
The Erie County Coroner’s Office told Erie News Now that the man, identified as Alfredo Arias from Alabama, fell between 35 and 40 feet inside one of the ship’s forward holds. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to blunt force trauma…
