Rutherford County fifth grader saves woman’s life using CPR

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) — The quick action of 11-year-old Norah Ward helped save a life earlier this month.

The fifth grader learned cardiopulmonary resuscitation in a class at Wilson Elementary School and then used her training in a real-world scenario on May 5.

Ward said she was visiting her grandmother in a senior living facility when another resident suffered cardiac arrest, so Norah took her grandma’s phone and immediately called 911.
