JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – After weeks of voting, West Tennessee has a Star Spangled Sing-Off winner. Today we met her.
For the past few weeks local singers from across West Tennessee stepped up with their best performance of the Star Spangled Banner. With over 30 entries, you spent time watching and carefully voting, West Tennessee picked one winner, Eleanor Garrard.
Gerrard has been singing since high school where she performed in Grease the Musical which then led her to join the choir. She walked us through what happened when she found out she had won.
“I was so excited. I was just on a trip with my family and with my grandmother and we both were like woo! Like screaming and so happy and excited,” said Garrard.
Without her family and friends Garrard says she would not have started singing, much less continue to sing or ever enter a competition like this one…
