NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Happy Father’s Day and happy Summer solstice! We are weather alert for strong storms, but they are expected to hold off until the early hours of Monday morning!
Father’s Day started foggy in spots, but mostly sunny skies are expected everywhere. Temperatures will rise into the upper 80s and low 90s.
A line of strong thunderstorms will arrive shortly after midnight in our southern Kentucky counties. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1 and level 2 out of 5 threat for parts of our area for Sunday night.
Our entire area is under a level 1 threat on Monday.
There will be two timeframes where storms could be severe. The first one will be near midnight in southern Kentucky and northern middle Tennessee. The second window for severe storms will be in the midmorning and afternoon on Monday.
Flooding and damaging winds are the main threats. There is a very low threat of a spin-up tornado in southern Kentucky during the very early hours on Monday morning.
The storms will be out of here by Monday evening, and we are in for some nice weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. Pop-up storm chances will return to the forecast by Thursday and Friday…
