NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — From severe thunderstorms to extreme heat, it must be summer in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky.
The severe thunderstorm threat is for Saturday afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1 out of 5 risk for most of our area. It’s the lowest level threat, but it only takes one storm to cause damage.
The main threat is for damaging winds, but there is a very, very low threat for a spin-up tornado.
Flooding is also a concern. There is a flood watch north of I-40 through Sunday morning. If you are under the flood watch, be ready for flash flooding.
Storms will impact from Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.
The storms will be out of most of our area on Sunday, and then the big story will be extreme heat. Temperatures will be in the mid 90s and it will feel like the 100s for the rest of the 7-day forecast.
Be sure to drink lots of water and take breaks if you have to be outside in the heat…
