A popular restaurant in one of Tennessee’s busiest tourist destinations is preparing to close its doors for good next month. After years of serving visitors in Pigeon Forge, the Hard Rock Cafe will permanently shut down, marking the end of another iconic dining destination in the Smoky Mountains – and leaving only one remaining location in the state.
Final day set for August
The Hard Rock Cafe, located at 2050 Parkway in Pigeon Forge, is expected to permanently close on August 23, 2026, according to a WARN notice filed with the state of Tennessee. The closure will impact 61 employees working at the restaurant.
The Pigeon Forge location is the second Hard Rock Cafe in Tennessee to close in recent years, following the closure of the brand’s Beale Street restaurant in Memphis in 2023.
A longtime stop for Smoky Mountains visitors
Originally established in Gatlinburg in 1999 before relocating to Pigeon Forge in 2014, the restaurant became a familiar stop for tourists visiting attractions along the Parkway. Guests were drawn to its collection of music memorabilia, live entertainment, classic American menu and Rock Shop merchandise.
The cafe’s location near attractions such as WonderWorks, the Titanic Museum Attraction and several popular dinner theaters made it a convenient dining option for vacationing families.
What comes next?
Reports indicate the property may not remain vacant for long. Local reports suggest the building is expected to become a Giordano’s Pizza restaurant after the Hard Rock Cafe closes, though an official opening date has not yet been announced…
